We believe that engaging with museums can have a positive and profound impact on people’s lives. We are committed to finding ways to connect more deeply with as wide a range of people as possible. Working in partnership with local communities and other cultural providers we seek to engage meaningfully through a wide range of creative projects.

Every year we welcome a wide variety of community groups to No.1 Royal Crescent. Many of these groups are part of our community projects with our various partners, such as the Pathways to Wellbeing project, the Recollection project and Snap and Stroll.

In 2019 we collaborated with these groups and others, inviting them to respond to the inspiring stories told at each of our museums through the use of artforms including photography and mixed media. The 2019 ‘Taking on History’ exhibition at the Museum of Bath Architecture showcased work by older people from Age UK (Bath & North East Somerset), local families and schoolchildren, and mental health support groups such as @FreshArt.
