Our expert Learning and Education team have developed a learning programme to cater for all age groups and curriculum levels ranging from Early Years to Key Stage 4.
The 2 hour school workshops feature exciting interactive learning activities based around Georgian history and the history of the world heritage city of Bath, guided by our Learning and Education team. A learning trail is also incorporated to help students make the most of an immersive tour of all the rooms in the house. Learning activities at No.1 Royal Crescent are tailored to support students ‘ learning objectives in line with the national history curriculum.
Primary school history trips
Bring your class to No.1 Royal Crescent in Bath and experience life as a guest or servant at one the finest addresses in Georgian Bath. We are offering a selection of workshops for KS1 and KS2 (and Foundation Years). All of our KS1 and KS2 workshops last 2 hours and include an immersive tour of the house, some object handling and a creative activity. A learning trail is also incorporated to help students make the most of a tour of all the 10 rooms in the house.

Secondary and GCSE history trips
Bring your KS3 and GCSE students to No.1 Royal Crescent to bring their studies to life. We can offer workshops that immerse students in Georgian life and add context, detail and hands-on experience to their literature, history or costume studies. For example, students can experience Jane Austen’s world and find out all about fashion and etiquette in Regency Bath.

Outreach sessions and loan boxes for schools
Don’t have the time to come to us? Why not let us bring the No.1 Royal Crescent experience straight into your classroom! There are two different ways that we can do this for you. A member of our learning team can come to your school and deliver our learning activities in person, or you can borrow a specially-made loan box for just £25. Help with school trip transport costs
We know that budgets are under pressure. That’s why we’re members of the Hyundai Great British School Trip scheme which enables schools to apply for a bursary to fund visits and/or travel to No.1 Royal Crescent. Apply through the Great British School Trip website.
